ABOUT THE PROJECT
The buildings are part of a former shipyard campus originally built from 1885 – 1916 for Union Iron Works and, later, Bethlehem Steel that was converted by the Port of San Francisco with real estate development partners into a mixed-use neighborhood. New structures blend with existing historic buildings in a combination of office and workshop/lab spaces.
The industrial look and feel of the buildings aligns perfectly with the client’s vision for an open, flexible headquarters flooded with natural light. The project brings old buildings to new life filled with cutting edge technology from the 21st century.
